Siam Center Bangkok – ETFE Roof Brings Daylight to Retail Dining

The ETFE roof uses a white top foil, allowing sunlight to create a soft natural glow inside the mall during daytime. This reduces the need for artificial lighting and contributes to operational savings while improving the atmosphere of the dining area.

Beyond daylight, ETFE offers acoustic transparency, an important advantage for crowded food court environments.
With a mass of less than 1 kg/m², the material allows sound to pass through rather than reflecting it back into the space, unlike conventional materials such as glass.

This helps maintain a comfortable acoustic environment where large numbers of visitors gather.
