ETFE Architecture at Scale: Canopy Systems at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore
At the heart of Singapore’s premier island destination, Resorts World Sentosa, a series of expansive ETFE canopies transform over 30,000 m² of outdoor space into comfortable, climate-responsive environments. This world-class resort, home to Universal Studios Singapore, the S.E.A. Aquarium™, Dolphin Island, and more, required architectural solutions that balance aesthetics, performance, and tropical climate resilience.
Our ETFE was selected as the roofing material for several large-scale canopies across the resort due to its ultra-lightweight properties, high transparency, and low structural load. These characteristics allowed for minimal support structures, reducing both material use and cost. The installation was carried out using rope access and Vector Foiltec’s proprietary trafficable netting system, ensuring safety, efficiency, and uninterrupted construction workflows below.
