The Story of the Project

ETFE Canopy That Elevates Everyday Space

In Xi’an’s G-Park commercial district, the first ETFE canopy in Northwest China creates a comfortable environment for shopping, dining, and leisure. Designed with both form and function in mind, the canopy stretches over 15,000 m² and uses 435 individually shaped ETFE air cushions to bring airy shelter and soft lighting to public walkways.

A Canopy That Scales with Elegance

The elongated, honeycomb-like ETFE cushions follow a steel grid structure that spans up to 29 meters per cushion. Because ETFE film is so lightweight, with just around 1% the weight of glass, the supporting steel framework remains slim, delivering a visually open canopy and reducing both structural cost and installation complexity.
