The Dalian Sports Centre Stadium in China features an eye-catching, elliptical facade, brought to life using ETFE panels. Architects opted for ETFE due to its long lifespan, easy maintenance, and ability to stay clean through rain, ideal for large-scale public structures that require both reliability and elegance.
Shaped by Design, Simplified by Material

Custom made design, saving steel and lowering maintenance needs.
ETFE panels were custom-made to match the stadium’s complex curved form, allowing for large sizes and flexible geometry. Because ETFE is so lightweight, the supporting steel framework could be reduced, helping to simplify both design and construction. Beyond its visual appeal, ETFE stands out for being low-maintenance, thanks to its durability and self-cleaning surface that minimizes upkeep. It also contributes positively to sustainability efforts, backed by independently verified Environmental Product Declarations.
